Kampung Temenin Baru is located on the way to the famous Panti Waterfall, Kota Tinggi. The village beautiful backdrop of Panti Mountain and serenity is an ideal get away and retreat place for city folks. The Temenin Homestay project was initiated by Ministry of Tourism Malaysia.
Each year the villagers receive about 2500 guests. About 40 families participated in this Homestay Host Family program. This homestay community can host up to 100 guests. Those who stay at their home are welcomed to cook and eat together with the family. The room rate and meal cost is very reasonable.
Each family representative also attended hospitality training by the ministry prior to be given the license to operate. Many of the people in this village are predominantly of Javanese background. They are really hospitable and warm to holiday makers and guests who visit and stay at their home and village. There are many interesting activities that one or a group can do while staying there. Among others are cycling, visiting rubber plantation, batik painting, and climbing Panti Mountain.
DL-2GO, the parent company of Rumah Rehat Aman is an official partner of Temenin Homestay. The company helps the villagers to market tourism packages to international clients, and runs Peace Ambassador and diversity trainings and team building there to support their tourism industry. Currently, the company is working on its team building site that is located about 10 minute walk from the homestay coordinator’s house.
Volunteer Tourists, CSR teams and students are welcome to work with DL-2GO on various projects to preserve and beautify the environment in Temenin Village. One of them is to straighten rivers and planting trees along Temenin rivers to prevent flash flood and land erosion.
